Obesity, Diabetes and Cardiology

Trends in Genomics and Proteomics in Biosciences

I am very much delighted to invite everyone to the "International Conference on Obesity, Diabetes and Cardiology" jointly organized by the School of Biological Sciences (SBS) of the Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) and Endling Conferences Private limited. SBS has been time and again and aptly recognized, right from the time of its inception, by various central and state government departments and funding agencies and major grants have been sanctioned in the form of higher education and research centres and programmes, such as, UGC- DSA (Phase I, II & III) and UGC- COSIST (Phase I & II), UGC-Centre for Excellence in Genomic Sciences (CEGS Phase I & II), UGC-CAS in Organismal & Functional Genomics (Phase I, II & III), UGC-Networking Resource Centre in Biological Sciences (NRCBS-Phase I & II), DST-FIST Programme (Repeat Cycle I, II & III), DBT-Interdisciplinary Programme in Life Science for Advanced Research and Education (IPLS), DBT-Brucella Genomics and DBT-Cancer Genomics Centre.

It cheers to note that the SBS is always keen in equipping itself with new, high-tech, modern and contemporary facilities and equipment and also making it possible for others to make use of such facilities in an optimal and judicious manner by organizing mega-events, such as, national and international conferences, workshops and hands-on training programmes. I earnestly believe that the International Conference on Obesity, Diabetes and Cardiology will certainly nurture the needs of modern scientists by providing an enlightened platform which could serve towards achieving excellence in academic arena through new scientific inputs.

A recent study published in 'Lancet Diabetes and Endocrinology' journal reported that an alarming 98 million people may have type 2 diabetes in India and 511 million worldwide by 2030. It is need of the hour to have such conferences which will boost the knowledge, instruments and manpower exchange among scientists globally, in order to address the problem at large. The thematic areas of the conference are very well planned such that it could provide excellent ambience for scientists, researchers and students to cater their needs to pursue research in modern biology in the ever growing competition to excel in biology research.

I wish the International Conference a great success and extend hearty congratulations to all the stakeholders of this international event. Further, | sincerely ensure pleasant stay in the Madurai Kamaraj University campus during this academic congregation. With Best Wishes,

Prof. M. Krishnan

M.Sc., Ph.D.,
